An Investment Coward:
I never found Target to be a bad place to shop. What I searched for, I normally found. I know I did not shop there often, but then again, I never shopped a lot at Zeller's which was their predecessor.
I guess the thing that upsets me most about Target pulling up stakes in Canada
is just that; they did have a predecessor. They came into the country, bought up a well known chain store and then decide to vacate the country.

What are they leaving behind — nothing. They in fact came here, are now destroying part of the country (17,600 unemployed and ghost town stores) and go back to the USA with tail between legs all the while leaving nothing behind but a big hole.
Target is the epitome of US imperialism but they could not understand the so called Canadian culture. This is my biggest beef with foreign investors. They still have their jobs and their money in that foreign land. There was zero vested interest in this country. At least a citizen who builds up and tries to invent or improve his country has that. If he loses, he loses; which makes him/her much more willing to try and save the business — Target just when home.
